Automatic Signal Control
The SIGM10 is an automatic controller for ten signals. it can drive various types of 2, 3 or 4 aspect "colour light" signals. It works out the correct signal aspect from its knowledge of train position on blocks and point positions on the track ahead. These are all determined through LocoNet messages from other sensors.
Panel Control for Points and Accessories
DCC systems all allow points to be controlled by accessory decoders, with connads sent from the throttles used to drive the trains themselves. Usually this means having to remember the point number and "dial" it up each time.
For those that still want to use a conventional control panel - with a picture of the track layout, a switch for each point and LEDs to show the current position of each point, there is the DTM16. This unit connects to LocoNet and generates the same messages that throttles do. A user can then change points in a station or yard simply by pressing the button over the point on the track diagram. Users can still use throttles to do this too.
Point (Turnout) Control
To control points using DCC systems requires an accessory decoder. The DAC10 is an accessory decoder for 8 point motors. It drives solenoid or tortoise type point motors; it has a built-in capacitor discharge unit for sloenoid motors; and it has a LocoNet interface for reporting back to other devices.
