Sidney Micro Open link in new window
Welcome to my Micro Layout page. A Micro layout may not be "one millionth of" but it sure is small! The goal is to create an operating model railroad in four square feet or less. It may be in any scale or gauge. In fact, despite their small size, some of the most fascinating micros are in O scale or larger. In my case, I am modeling in On30 and On18 - O scale using HO and N gauge track respectively. Inspired by Carl Arendt's web site, Micro LAYOUTS for Model Railroads, I built my first micro and had more fun than I had in years of designing and trying to build large "mainline" model railroads. The preliminary computer sketches of that layout, the Knockout, are shown above.

Sloat Lumber Co - Sn3 logging on a budget.. Open link in new window
This website is about modeling the logging industry and its connected railroads as it developed in the Pacific Northwest in the late 19th century. It is mainly a source of ideas, and I hope inspiration, as my own modeling is in its early stages. Since my modeling is on a strict budget the emphasis is on kitbashing opportunities etc. If you can afford PBL brass good for you, but you will not find it here.. by Lennart Elg

Texas - The On30 Hill Country Outlaws Open link in new window
The On30 Hill country Outlaws are model railroaders interested in narrow gauge modeling at 1/4" scale - primarily modules; though some members have home layouts.

We are a subdivision of the On30 Lone Star Outlaws (OcmodsTexas). We maintain close ties with this group and follow module construction guidelines that are compatible with theirs. The Lone Star Outlaws are mostly active in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. The Hill country Outlaws are primarily located in and around Austin. We are collectively, the Texas Outlaws. This does not mean that anyone in the world would be less than welcome.
