What is Nn3 you ask? Well, the first N is the designation for N scale which means that the models are built to the scale of 160:1. The second n stands for Narrow gauge with the number indicating the scale distance between the rails in either inches or feet. So Nn3 means N scale railroad modeling a railroad 3 feet between the rails.

This is the home list of the N-Scale Narrow Guage special interest group. In short form this is Nn3. While we use the term Nn3 to describe our gauge it is not stricly speaking only the 3 foot gauge we model. The three popular gauges modelled are 3 foot, 3 foot 6 inch and meter gauges.
