The railroad crossing

Lorrie and I (along with help from friends) have started constructing a garden railroad in our backyard. I started designing the track plan in the summer of 2004, using RR-Track, by R & S Enterprises. Actual construction started in August 27, 2005.

This is the plan that we are building. This plan shows a retaining wall (thick brown and green lines) that must be built to level out the yard. We are modeling the Santa Fe RR in the Arizona/New Mexico area. The double track mainline has minimum 14' radius curves. We then added a winding narrow gauge line to the rear and elevated to the main.
